The answer is GIMP!

GIMP is a free graphics program which is comparable to Adobe Photoshop. GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

I am often asked what graphic programs are good to use for basic graphic design. GIMP is a pretty good candidate for this. It can even save files in Photoshop format.

Content Websites
If you need to update your website and you need to re-touch the photo, maybe you need to resize it or crop the image. GIMP will allow you to do this.

Online Stores
Many of my customers struggle creating effective images to use as the product images. Having good quality images can make or break a online store.

You can crop the picture of your product so you get the most important part of the image – the product!

You can also use this program to create banners.

GIMP includes a built-in help system but there is a user manual available which you can download here – http://docs.gimp.org/2.6/en/

Online Training
Learning how to use a new program can be a daunting experience. Learning how to use a graphics program can be even worse. There is free online training available here – http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/

Plugins
Plugins are available that make life easier for you. You can download them here – http://registry.gimp.org/and search for the task that you want done. If you are unsure what plugins to use, go to this link and read through some of the plugins. You might find a plugin that you never thought would be so handy to have!
